I picked this up at the BTT50's swap today for the grandkids to have fun with. Now I'm trying to find out info on it....to no avail. Any one know anything about it??? I'm guessing 60's. It's steel. It has an electric starter motor and gear box. Dimmer switch to make it go, forward and reverse shifter, brakes, and an electric horn. The only info on the car is the decal on the steering wheel drop that says "Star Lite". Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Jake

Ther was alot of koll stroller /pedal cars all over the place all week end .. Some with power wheel drive and some with electricscooter / hoverround set ups
I remember similar ones at a place called "Sportsworld" in the 1970's near were I live. They put them on a track that had high wood curbs and let the kids drive around. I bet this is one from a similar amu*****t park.
It looks to be an Innocenti version of the Austin Healey Sprite. The toy is only a bit smaller than the real thing
Check out www.jrcentral.com they have lots of info on what most people call junior cars. The body on that looks more crude than my 66 mustang but the motor/rear end is more advanced. My Mustang came from Friendly Town in Danville Illinois, I drove one there when I was a kid. It was a program to teach safety to kids and it had streets and buildings all built to scale of the cars. After the cl***room part you got to go out and drive the cars.
I am the guy that owns www.jrcentral.com I believe they were made in the twin cities or Wisconsin in the mid sixties but I will have to dig through the paperwork to find more info on starlite. With it being all steel it sets it apart from most or the Powered promotional cars since they had either fibergl*** or Plastic bodies. They did not have the detail that the fibergl*** bodies had but they would probably take a hit better? They made them for several years! Here is a 57 Thunderbird version And I have a 58 Thunderbird version also. Your car does not show any signs of ever being track mounted and was for personal use. If I remember right they were sold outright or used in promotional drawings. So I cleaned up the Starlite, buffed w/polish, and made a windshield with plexigl***. The grandkids are having a blast with it.
