Be careful with DHL fellas. They talked me into setting up an account,(they want you to do it with a credit card)to speed things up they said. One week later I took four wheels in their own seperate identical boxes, and three other things to the DHL store. I always charge plenty for shipping and REFUND any over back to the buyer. I sent these items ,got my receipt and promply sent the extra back.About three weeks later I got a bill from DHL and it lacked two dollars from being double what they had told me when I shipped it. I called them and they broke down the code for me, The wheels were in the same wheel boxes and were the exact same wheels. They said two out of the four were overweight. Two of the other boxes were ***esed extra charges for being sent a "not serviced area".( 40 miles from Baton Rouge) One of them and the other one were considered oversize. They said they would reveiw it, but later dropped $5 of the $48 the had overcharged me. Best of luck.
I concure with Ol Scratch, I bought a whole squat load of 1/4 scale remote control stock cars (3 of em) with enough parts to build two more....all of the **** was big and heavy.....5 boxes worth, the dude on e-gay wanted $250 to ship the stuff....to a normal guy thats not out of line dealing with UPS, I asked prior to bidding if I could use my shipping account, he agreed, it cost me $60 total for all 5 boxes....quite a savings, and yes it was a DHL shipping account...
I used to buy and sell quite a bit on ebay, have drifted away for many reasons. Shipping has become a problem like Junkyard Jan says. I try to stay away from the big sellers, can't prove it but think often they are probably dealing with seconds. That said the guy is obviously an ***hole to respond like that to a simple question. For what its worth I'd file a complaint with ebay however probably won't do much good. Guess thats why I'm back to buying from people I know.
This is a perfect response. The seller is obliviously a complete tool, but you knew a head of time what the deal was, why did you bid then? I agree, the shipping cost was too high, but why people bid first and then complain later is beyond me.
Same with me... used to sell a lot on there. Feedback is just a few points short of 1,000, and that's mostly from sales. But it's just too much of a h***le -- buying AND selling. Everyone has their own crazy little rules and many get totally bent if you even ask about doing anything differently. The whole shipping thing is insane, driven by the percentages that eBay charges on the sale, but not, of course, for the shipping. And yeah, I avoid the "power sellers."
i belive the company would. i know alot of places charge more for shipping that it actually cost them. it not just on ebay.
Well I'm a little happier now the guy who wrote me the ****ty email was the boss, the guy I'm dealing w/ now is alot nicer and agreed that his boss needs to be punched in the face. I'll have the new gun soon and hes throwing in an hok chip book for free, plus hes paying me back for the shipping. If only everyone could be as understanding I have his email tht he sent me saved in case he tries to upll anything. Can't wait to see the feedback he leaves me now.
