You know I was thinking about this build thread last night and one thing occurred to me.

Five years from now some kid will do a search on custom 55 Chevy pickups and he will undoubtedly find this thread. He will be drooling over that pink masterpiece, the chrome and all the other great work that was done. But he will be blind sided with Karate Kid, License to Drive, Slick Rick and other oddball quotes. They will make absolutely no sense because Your avatar has changed.

 

Looks just right TF! Now get those inner fenders painted.....I wanna see the jewel box with that sweet Cad in it!

Terd picked out a pretty awesome color at Bradleys. It's a really nice shade of Purple with a lot of magenta that'll really tie it all together nicely. Damn terd I am happy for ya!

 

Its a 2001 Ford color called Ultra White. Its just plain white. Well...white with some blue and black in it. The paint store guy was telling me that you can make pure white 'whiter' by adding black and/or blue. I had a hard time believing him til he showed me the mixing process. Anyway, its a really crispy bright white. I probably have enough left for the inner fenders and the interior.

 

The same goes for blacks as well, the purest don't look the same, the added color gives it depth, making it seem deeper...

 

Here's another shot. Its still in the shade though. I can't wait to see how bright it is in the sun!

 

That pink motor against that white will rule. Yes, the inner fenders may be white too, the motor will be like a 'jewel' enveloped in the white. The polish/chrome sprinkled about will finish the eye candy. This is a killer realistic build. Please nail a shot of the motor install outside. Shades required.
