I know there are some kirker users here, I'm using the ultra glo single stage urethane. It is mixed 3 to 1. No problem there. I want to add kirker reducer. The instructions from the supplier (autobody tool mart) say do not use more than 10 percent reducer. The instructions on kirkers website say use at 3 to 1, so it would be 3 to 1 to 1 on the mixing cup. These 2 different instructions seem worlds apart. Oh, and the labels on the cans don't even mention reducer ratios. I believe I should use the ratios on kirkers website and go 3 to 1 to 1. I have never used reducer before , does this seem right? Thanks
Not really "worlds apart", Kirker say use as is and the supplier says do not add more than 10% reducer to the paint as received.
I am a Kirker user. The 3-1-1 is a maximum. There is inconsistency in the viscosity of their paint. Depending on the color, you may need reducer and you may not. Spray a test panel and see what kind of orange peel you are getting. Work with the gun pressures and viscosity of your mix until you get something you are satisfied with. The less reducer you use, the better coverage you will have. There is no one fit answer to your question.
