Hi Wade, just found this thread, the car looks great!. Great build and a well documented thread. I have read a lot of the thread today and have subscribed so I can read the rest. I like the quality of your work, good sensible work to a high standard. I especially like the way you made the pedals. I am building a '27 on 32 rails, making the steel body from scratch, you might find it interesting- here is a link in case... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=596032

Thanks Wade, I have not had time to do anything on it for a few weeks but I hope to do some this week. Great to see your car finished, great inspiration.

The September issue of NZ Hot Rod magazine turned up in the post yesterday. There is a heap of pictures of the National Show last month and they even had a picture of mine too! Very happy to get some more ink.
The sad news is that I haven't even been near the car since then.....but I have finished 5 longboard decks today ready to sell! Check em out here.

I have been kind of busy making up for spending so much time on it last year. getting the driveway concreted and the kitchen torn out and rebuilt, bigger, better, stronger, faster. A few other promised jobs to sort, then back into it to get ready for some summer driving. I have booked to go to the pre 49 Nats in Masterton, Feb 2014. Nothing like working to a deadline! Stay tuned for more updates as we progress.

Yesterday I finally got around to resetting the shop, had a big tidy up and dragged the car back into the middle of the shop, lifted it down off the bench and set it on some stands. The plan now is to pull things apart and finalise a few bit and pieces like, brake and fuel lines, throtal and kickdown cables, alternator bracket, mirrors, aircleaner etc etc etc.
I have booked for a trip to Masterton for the pre 49 Nationals, a 1600km round trip! So I had better get my A into G if I want to finish and put a few miles on the dial before then.
    Pictures of progress soon.........in color........promise!

I had a frustrating morning in town this morning. I am trying to find some solid aluminium mushroom rivets, to fasten some tags onto my headlights and firewall. I don't want to use pop rivets. I want to use solid ones that require hammering to fit. Simple thing right? NOoooooo! Nobody has anything and have no inclination to help or suggest.

Any one have any ideas or know of a supplier!

Hanson Rivit in california is where I get mine, I like the 3/16 round head soft solid aluminum rivets the best.

Thank you! I should have known better than to waste my time driving around town......I just needed to get on here and ask!!! Duh!

Edit.. After a little more investigation I have found a supplier locally......in fact at a firm that I visited this morning, they told me " No we don't have any that small".
Don't you hate when they don't know their own product range!

I will have to check back. The codes would have been on the tins, did Rod give them to you or has he still got them?

Check with a repair shop at the local airport, they should have some, standard airframe supplies.
