This car used to belong to a good friend of mine. It is a 1934 Nash Lafayette. In 1934 Nash only built 8000 odd vehicles all inclusive....this is seriously rare steel!!

Hey Woodbox, I didn't know you were a mate of John's any mate of his is good in my books, the Nash looks sweet that car has always caused trouser trouble for me ;) be it the old brown metalic days, matt black and doing skids or nice and Green now. A bunch of those cars must have made it here there are 3-4 Rodded Nash's around and John told me of another dead stock one down here in auckland somewhere.

  5. Some damn nice stuff there from the land of the long white cloud but I'm sorry, that 38 Deluxe (I think it is) without guards is an affront on the hot rod community of the world.
As for the SOHC digger? Wow, what can you say SOHC!! heaven.

John sold me the 327 right after we plucked it from the Nash for my 1946 Coupe.....I think the Nash was still brown in them there days!
Johns lovely wife was there in the Miss Nostalgia contest with the parasol.

No it's not Slutters old truck. It is still around but is red oxide with cream scallops. Currently owned by Colin of the Scroungers.

    Awesome photos!

I love the SOHC Cammer FED.

Also the red '46 Ford pickup (got one).

I love your country too. Very beautiful with lots of fun-lovin' mates. Highly recommend.

The Blue Morrie is twin turbo V6 powered and when it leaves the line it seems fairly placid but at about the 60 foot mark the turbos kick in and it just goes nuts and takes off like a bat out a hell.....very impressive and the sound of a screamin V6 is something else.
I hate to burst your bubble on the black one but it is a Ford Prefect....after the Populars this is what British fords started to look like. This little car was also very impressive to watch and quick!

Fish is the 'racer'. I was busy with other things and couldn't make it to the Nostalgias this year.

He broke the engine last year at the Nostalgias and it took a year to rebuild it.

No, not really. It sat for 11 months and then it was a mad thrash to get it going. Nearly finshed and he found working late at night that the throw out bearing for the clutch had been forgotten.

Great effort by him to get it running and with a best of 15.5 (Down from last years 17.00) he is over the moon. He is hoping for 14's The engine is still in a very tame state of tune so there is a lot more in it yet.

He asked what would be needed to run 12's and I replied 'new underpants' :D

Next month it is heading for the dirt track.
