I will traveling through Kansas with the family the weekend of the Leadsled Spectacular but since we will be passing through will only have one day for the show. What is the best day to go if you have one day? Also any recommendations on where to stay that is not to "rowdy" since I will be with the kids? Thanks in advance.
the KKOA is TOTALLY family friendly. For me - Friday is the best day - cause of the Friday Night drags.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrW8ToKSG24&feature=share&list=UUSBDfOiS-0LKRjDaUaLB4Cw
If I had to pick one day it'd be Saturday. The most cars show up and they don't disappear in the afternoon for super hot zero shade drags. Though you might want to book your room a month ago
saturday is the best for the car show. Getting a room may be difficult now. You may have to stay in the next city down the road.
Friday!Friday!Friday! IF you want to see cars setting still, just look in the magazines. The drags are the highlight of the weekend.
Saturday you will get to see everything. The motels are all pretty dull for partiers, Most of the custom guys are too old for raising hell. They have been there done that, now they go to bed early.
Friday afternoon, Must see the drags, then get up while its cool and take in Cars in the the park Saturday morning. Everyday is good, best show in Midwest (but it's hot, so get a room_ not tent weather)
If you're into racing then I'd recommend Friday. I prefer Saturday-Pin-up contest, model car contest, vintage bicycles and historically the largest number of cars. Sam
