Oh man!!!! Like Joe said, were all used to that kinda stuff out here, but man does that suck. Shotty work and a fender bender were my reasons for turning my first car into a kustom, glad to see you've jumped the fence!

Ian, great stuff as always. I'm just gonna ship everything to you from now on, OK?

Thanx everybody for the kind words!!! Here's an update Mitch...... I really hope you like it. I'm definitely not done with the light area, i have another little mod up my sleeve that will set them apart from other ones! :) If there's something you don't like tell me and i will change it, no problem at all!!

Im actually going to close them in a little more so they follow the top of the 1/4 better, they wont be so wide .

the lens on the passenger side is loose and falling back, so dont mind that please. i took some quick pics without being totally finished.

IMO, It's gonna look even better when its lowered a little more or even better with a CHOP!!:D

Keep in mind i'm definitely not finished and i also have to lead the area for perfect finish!!

Looks very nice as is... but I wonder, what if you added a little 'sweap' to your tape? It would create more of a V shape when lookin' at it dead on from the rear, and add a shadow line to the angle thats already there from the side. Just something to play with...

If that can help anybody wanting to make the frames for these, and god knows how much i had a hard time to make them perfect until i came up with this. they need to be perfect or else everything else is gonna be crooked.

First, make a 1/8" template of the bottom and the top of the lense as they are slightly different.

weld your rod on the corner and use the torch without using any force, only heat. and trim the end.

repeat for the 3 other ends and you have your top and bottoms.

the rest is easier , find how big you want your lens and measure and cut a straight piece and weld it. done!!!

    It's not rocket science but............

  22. Nice work man...love following your threads...

I imagine you probably have this sorted out, but have you though about flipping the bumper over? Might complement the reversed curve of the area under the Merc lights...or maybe even pushing the bumper back a couple inches, so the rake of the revised quarts flows into the bumper?

I think that is a bondo commercial, amazing what you'll find under that stuff. Sucks, it had to be that bad, but after the metalwork I am sure we will all be drooling over it in a couple months. Good Luck, now the fun begins.

Nice work Ian. Is there a plan to extend the rear quarters under the tailights? I'm just not sure of the profile where the tail rolls back under the tailights... All in all great work and truley a great inspiration.

can somebody photoshop drop the bumper 2" and pull it back another 2" and fill in the bottom to follow the angle of the lense? if so, i'd appreciate it!!:)
