gents, what brings me to this forum is an insatiable need to know every single ole-timers trick about welding, soldering, brazing and mechanical seaming method that exists before it all vanishes into oblivion. I don,t claim to be a body man. I have made floor pans for friends from everything from street signs to 1/4" plate. My main line of work is in the architectural building components trade. Scuppers,downspouts,fineals--metal is metal, and i've ben working it longer than i haven't. i'm 50, own my own side business selling, fabricating, and installing the products that my 40hr job produces which is sheet metal roofing. I lay out metal, can make templates in CADD and design details that are used in huge commercial applications such as airports and military hangers where the roofing panels are in excess of 200' long. I just want to be connected with people that can show me something new. Everybody has figured out a way to make a process better, quicker, or easier and I am not too proud to know that you can learn something from everyone that you meet. I'm knocker313 and look forward to bouncing ideas off of as many of you that will listen.
