Kodachrome Cars. Slideshow of Mid Century America

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jive-Bomber, Oct 5, 2010.

  1. I ran hundreds of rolls of ASA 25 and 64 Kodachrome through my Leica and Nikons and now have boxes of slides that I would like to convert to digital.

Does anyone know if there's a do-it-yourself converstion program or gadget to do this?

Some of my slides are of the first NSRA Nat's and Lakeland Dragstrip in Memphis and T-bucket gatherings in Gatlinburg that I would love to see again digitally. Thanks.

Great thread! When you see that you know you are looking back in time even before you disect visually the elements in the photos.

For whatever it's worth, a company called Alien Skin makes a photoshop plug-in called "Exposure" that can replicate Kodachrome, and a whole bunch of other film and camera types.

I will second that, it comes very close and I have been playing around with it and the results are good

That sucker's a wing wing? I had a '57 t'bird, so their's was in glass. But the '57 chevy had its own wind window, right?

I had thought maybe it was to extend out the mirror somehow for trailer towing, since there were so many airstreams in the photo collection.

My dad was a fan of Kodachrome slides. I scanned some of the old ones into my computer a while back.

Wow, what cool pictures. I can look at old pictures all day long.. I was definitely born in the era, but then again I'm the wrong color so I should be glad I was born when I was.. hahahah..

Now here’s a shot I took back in the day, late 70s when I lived in Hoboken, NJ.
Found this with some other Kodachrome slides. Just scanned. Love the colors. Thanks. Slim
