Does anyone happen to know the chronology of the Kong Jackson distributors?

I have one with a tag that says "Glendale California" rather than the more common "Championship Model". I have been unable to find a photo of another "Glendale" version.

Other than the tag, these two seem to be the same - internals, cam facing features, etc.

Then, there also seem to be models with a thicker flange under the cap that is knurled in addition to knurling on the mounting flange. These also have a different method for retaining the rear bearing and a different drive tang.

Photos other than the first have been culled from various HAMB posts.

Then, of course, there are the "Berk Engineering" version which I'm guessing Kong must have purchased and rebranded?

    Just to clarify -

I believe the Kong ignitions were, "magnetos", not...distributors.
Sorry, don't know any more than that.

So how is a Kong ignition a magneto?

It's a dual coil distributor, not a magneto. It is fairly basic - no mechanical or vacuum advance. Timing is adjusted by loosening the external screw and turning half the unit.

NOW we can see where the other earlier post showing delco distributors on those baseplates were made--simple when you have those bases!

The Glendale tag looks older because it was etched, leaving the letters raised above the background. The Championship tag was just regular screen printed.
