I saw this in Boones' photos of GNRS...looks an awful lot like the Trumpster with numerous changes. I know it was run over by a cab in front of the club..is this the repaired version? Anyway, this bike kicks ass!
i don't know, but i doubt it, that is a triumph frame, the trumpster was a sporty frame. it didn't get wrecked that bad did it?
I think so. Check the right corner of the pic. I have seen that sign saying "trumpster" before. The bike kicks ass, I like it even more if that possable..
[ QUOTE ] I know it was run over by a cab in front of the club..is this the repaired version? [/ QUOTE ] wha? crunched? what the hell? details...?
i was wrong, i looked at the pics i have of it and it looks like it is the same, with quite a few changes to boot.
I really don't know the details, Dan. One of the Kontinentals can fill us in I'm sure. Here's before the crunch, I see lots of similarities: Changing the angle of the pipes to match the bottom rails of the hardtail is a big improvement. Springer's cool too.
Yea Brian I think thats it..I heard he was putting a springer on it and the hand made engine mounts look the same.
Brian, sure looks like the same one- frame, l'il seat mount, rear fender supports, lots of similarities as y'all have pointed out. kinda like the springer front and the ripply pipes!
that bike was kick ass.. Stood and looked at the bike for a while admiring all the cool work... I think it was the best bike there, thou the ones from Zero Engineering (from Japan and now Tigard Or) were really cool
Does anyone know what those rear fender braces are? Scott Craig used those on all the bikes I've seen from him. They're really clean looking.
That IS Wertheimer's Trump in its new guise. Scott did an amazing job, again, especially with the paint. I don't know what the fender braces are, but he has pretty much the same ones on his Pan, Scallywag. Both bikes caused commotion in the lower regions...
I just got back to Texas from Pamona. Long trip, but well worth it esp when I saw the "new and improved". This is the redone Trumpster. It will be here in Austin in person for the Round Up. A few little details left to finish up. Scott Craig and the guys at Chopperville did a bang up job breathing new life in the Trumpster after she was creamed by a runaway cab in August while parked out on the side walk in front of the club. The cat lost control of the cab after falling asleep probably, and caught a rear fender of the only truck parked in front on the street(This was at approx 3am) which caused him to fish tail and head straight up on the sidewalk and into the bike. Lousy luck on my part but luckily I was not on it gettin' ready to kick it and ride home.I have pics from that night but they aren't that pretty to look at. Like I said before, Scott and the gang at Chopperville put her back together better than before w/ some great changes incl the panels in the tank and fender, the exhaust that was destroyed, the front end that was destroyed and I got my seat reupholstered by this cat that learned from Tony Nancy(it's even sportin' the sea horse). And the fortunate part is nobody got hurt when the bike got hit and the Cab Co was more than happy to foot the bill for putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. Scott's bike Scallowag, a full custom pan, was at the show right next to the Trumpster. A real one-two punch. The fender braces are hand made as are alot of parts on the bikes that Chopperville builds including the meat cleaver motor mounts which help make the '62 Trump 650 fit into the '69 sporty frame. Much thanks goes out to Scott,Johnnie,Richard, Nick and the rest of the crew that helped make this bike #1 in its class..."Full Custom Bike" at the GNRS.Best in it's class award. Scallowag probably would have tied for 1st but the guys at the show wouldn't let it compete cause we were late on the entry for it. But they did let us bring it in and show it for display only and like I said, those two together had quite an impact.
Thanks for filling us in Steve...the bike turned out killer! His pan looks awesome too, now that you mention it.
They do look great and what a change - can't wait to see em both in person at the Round Up - Scott is gonna have a Chopperville booth out there - so you can ask him yourself about the bikes. heres some shots of his bike Scallywag
Thanks for the pics of his pan, B...I'm diggin' it. Not sure about the white exhaust, though. Glad to here he's going to be at the Roundup with the bikes. I'd also like to check them out in person.
