  1. Does anyone live nearby @krylon32 that could help him post images? His ads would be much more effective if he could add pictures.:) I'm sure that once he got the hang of it he would be off to the races....:D

I don't have an I phone so i can't help there and don't have the right password on my phone but in the past I have used my phone to post photos on a post that I was writing on the computer when I ran outside to take a photo with the phone rather than the camera.

I had trouble with pictures because they were too large. I don’t have a resizing app so I send them to myself. I can say what size. I then save them to photos and I can post them.

If you have an iPhone, I’d take screen shots of posting images on mine, and send them to you to look over, or just post them here.
And I’m pretty much iPhone illiterate!

    Hello,

Anyone trying to copy a photo from the internet, needs to post it to a program like Word Document first. As you paste it, it will automatically show you the size on an 8x1o viewing screen. Now, each of us likes to keep the photos from small to medium. Some like to post as copied and now no one knows what size it was originally. It may come out huge on the HAMB when the "full image" tab is used. Not to worry, just delete it and resize using the bubbles on the clicked on photo.

But, if you store it on your photos section of the phone or on your computer, it will probably be large due to the upgrade in phone technology. The resolution is usually pretty good, but even so, it needs to be downsized to make a clear photo for posting on any website, like the HAMB. For some, the "full image" tab works, but if you know the size of the original photo, fine.

Once you copy paste the photo(s) to a Word Document, now you can resize without a photo program from your own photos or even a copied photo from the internet. Now, the smaller you make it, the clearer it will be. But, that final size can be seen as you take a "reply" tab and see how it looks on the screen.
    upload_2024-8-19_12-13-0.png
If the image is too large or blurry, then take one of the corner bubbles of the photo on your Word Document and reduce it.
    upload_2024-8-19_12-14-14.png
Or, use the bubbles to enlarge or reduce the size to fit your needs. Remember, the smaller the image that is already in focus, will look cleaner if it is sized right. And, the Word Document is available to make the image large or small to fit.

It sounds difficult, but even an 80 year old guy can make heads or tails out of a clear or blurry photo. Practice will help you develop the technique to allow you to take a photo, adjust the size on a Word Document and skip the photo programs symbols to create a simple reduction in size of the photo.

Copy and paste is the end result. But, once you practice posting it to the upload_2024-8-19_12-15-11.png
tab, now, you can adjust to your heart’s content and the result will be what we all see when we click on the story line. Once pasted to the tab screen and you don’t like it, just delete and start over… YRMV

  13. Or you can use the paint program every tablet, iPad or desktop comes with. It's not what the pros use but it will get the job done.

Is this still true? I haven't had to resize an image to post on a forum in years.

I have sent him the photo tutorial several times to no avail. He told me that other Hambers that know how to upload photos have tried it from his computer but couldn’t do it. It must be something with his computer or software

Easy there, what if more deuces come along?

Don’t listen to me, I have run out of places to take pictures of stuff that don’t look like a nightmare in the background… Which is an inconvenient solution to any difficulties posting pictures here.

  27. Actually good advice :D. Have the new PC installed by some whiz-kid expert who will also take the time to explain whats going on . Don,t forget the photo-resizer . All this will take a hour or two so relax and let it happen. It,s handy if the whiz-kid lives close bye for the panic moments

That is the big question, computers work for everything, but some are limited in scope. Perhaps he has a Chromebook with limited programs and power. (Similar to ones sold to schools.) It looks like a laptop, works like a laptop, but has limited abilities that we are all accustomed to having in front of our own laptops.

    Hello,

The only few computers like the Chromebook versions have limited photo editing and word processing programs. But, they can be added or accessed via the internet. Some folks do use Chromebooks as they are low cost and are minimal as far as a powerful Windows laptop or Apple Mac. So, they are good for school use and many schools have them for their limited abilities. Writing, copying and saving to the network prevents them from wide internet searches and other stuff kids are tempted to do with windows laptops in a computer class use.

The majority of Chromebooks have low end technology making photo/video editing almost impossible without the usage of apps. But, boy, are they lightweight, easy to pick up, and move to anywhere possible.

They are computer devices, similar in design and hardware. The operating system is a Chrome OS compared to Windows and MacOS on most laptops and computers, we normally see.

Chrome OS laptops helpful for doing more than simply browsing the web. You won’t get the full desktop software portfolio Windows and macOS systems, but millions of Android apps and a wide variety of full Linux desktop apps are at your disposal. If you want them. Most folks buy one and what is on the Chromebook is just fine. You get what you pay for.

    Jnaki

The problem may stem from the Chromebook versus Windows/macOS computers and what they can do or not do. So, that may be the case here.

A small 14 inch Chromebook is a nice computer. Very lightweight, can be picked up with one hand, even an old “one hand” grab. It is so lightweight compared to my Windows 17 inch laptop. So, there is that. But, it is a whole world of difference comparing my wife’s 14 inch Chromebook to my 17 inch Alienware laptop. She has a powerful Windows home computer in the office and that is powerful enough for all editing, recording, film viewing and word processing.

But, she roams the house and sometimes she would like to use her lightweight Chromebook to see a menu or information from a simple source. It is larger than her Iphone and Ipad, so the 14 inch screen give old eyes a better view of information and photos. Her home computing is done on her powerful desktop computer for everything else. But it cannot roam the house or shaded yard for a simple access. No work stuff, just viewing and perhaps, listening to a song or two. YRMV

    Note:
In more recent times, the developer of Chromebooks knew it dented the laptop industry, with their lightweight, minimal laptop. As it goes, one can order a Chromebook loaded to the hilt with products and abilities. Or, the technology is now in the hands of large laptop companies to come out with features similar to a Windows or Mac system.

But, now, we are talking similar money to those earlier Windows/Mac products. So, one can still get a simple Chromebook, like the early models, but also for more money, fully loaded to compete with their heavier competition. YRMV

How many threads do we need about one person not posting photos? He’s tried, people have tried. The horse is dead and y'all worn the toes off your boots.

he’s not going to post photos, you will in fact survive.
