Hello H.A.M.B people, first, sorry for my poor language, i'm French, i try to do my best to speak in English.
I just wanna share my story about me and my car. I have done all the work alone, with no garage, outside, no help, just my hand, my brain, 220v, the rain, the snow, and sunshine (and some beer ;-) ).
2 years ago......i buy a 1954 Renault, lost in a field about 40 years....

 

The car is not in good condition, and, like all the 50's French cars, the frame and the body are jointed together.....

The engine is a 4 cylinders, 6V, single carb....


The interior is like the outside.....

 

Keep going,you are doing fine. I enjoy French hot rod builds. All the ones I've seen posted here were very cool in their own way.

 

A Fregate? Watching this thread with interest. Your English is fine - and appreciated.

 

So, this is the place where i gonna work for 2 years.....when i look this car, i see a small 1951 chevy....i think this car will be great in a Leadsled style, i wanna drive this car all days in the futur, so.....lets rock'n'roll.....

ok guys , thanks for your welcome message, i hope you appreciate this post....when i look my favorite car, like shoebox, or merc, the best way to do something cool, is.....Chop the Top, ok, i have never do this before, it's my first top chop, it's a four doors, round roof car, not the best for a newbie (in fact, it's the best way, i like difficulty, and i challenge myself....)....I start to take off the parts.

The windshield and all the windows are in "Securit", no way to cut this kind of glass, so i don't think about to recycle the old windows , i just follow my feeling and project what i have in my mind.....

 

It's heavy, and take off the roof alone it's not simply to do, but it's fun, and that's what i want....have fun.

My 4 doors convertible.....

Securit glass must be the same as tempered?

 

What a mess, i must cut everything to do something cool, we are in december 2012....the bad weather is comming.....i fuckin don't care, i do my car just behind the road, and all the unkwon drivers in the street ask me "your a fool", or "you have destroy a collectible car", the cool thing, is that some chicks like my strange view about this car....hummm, i enjoy when then she's says "when it will be finish, i hope you can drive me around the city"...ho yeah baby.....;-)

 

Yes Texas Webb, when you try to cut security glass, you have thousand small glass cube in result.

 

I decided to transform in 2 doors, so i cut the base of the rear window, and i try to find a good looking place, to have something great...it's the brain stroming time....

 

Ugly, too hardcore.....try again.....

Thanks guys for your support, i know that i was alone when i have build my car, but there is a lot people like me in this forum, that's because i never post my job anywhere, and now it's time to share with a real cool guys like you. I'm nobody, i'm just as you said Saxman, a dreamer, who made his dream come true.
