FWIW, I started the "Praise the Lowered" saying by painting that name on a '49 Merc's rear quarters waa-aay back in 1982, just in time for my friend Ed Banes of Littleton, CO, to drive to Des Moines for the KKOA show...it was only a matter of hours after Ed drove into the fairgrounds that the lapel ****on people were selling large ****ons with that saying on it...it took off like wildfire and is still going on today...

This was taken a couple years later after it was painted. It was in primmer in 82.

 

Yep, that's Ed's Merc...if I recall correctly I lettered it in red on the primered version...thanx stanlow69...glad you have a photo of it...

That 39 Ford 4-door convertible wasn't the car I used for the Lead East artwork, It was a 40 Merc that I made up in my head. I don't know how it made its way onto the Praise the Lowered plaque.
