  9. I knew I'd seen this car before in Custom Rodder, so I did some digging.
It was in the Custom Rodder 1993 Winter Issue, Vol. 3 No. 1 on page 56 in their coverage of Back to The Fifties.
According to the caption, it's a '57 Pontiac belonging to Jim Dischel of Jamesville, Wisconsin.
I haven't checked yet, but I also think there was a quick shot of it in the '92 Leadsled Spectacular video.
That's all I could find on it. Shame, it deserved way more magazine coverage. Cool car..........E

Thanks E! It's even more wild in color.

I got to thinking, in Custom Rodder? How could I not remember that...
Looked up the cover, and I don't have that issue.

I really don't know. The owner was not around to talk to. Perhaps one of the other followers of this forum can answer. your question,

I don't know what that window is out of, but it does appear to be mounted with the bottom side at the top.

The bodywork was stunning. The interior (no pics, sorry) has lots of long black/white and white/black fur, including the entire headliner.

Yes, that rear window has all the looks of the stock '51 rear window mounted upside down.

E you amaze me with your ability to recall information and coverage on cars in the past. I can't remember what I had for breakfast!

Bill, the Lorenzo Merc is another of my all time favorites. I think it has what I would consider one of the best flame jobs ever on a Merc.

That car belonged to Tony Sacket here in Wichita. Hub Harness chopped the top. I think it was at the 25th Leadsled in Salina. Hub said he still has it here in Wichita.

  25. Wow, Hub chopped it, huh? That's awesome! It was great to catch up with Hub at the Leadsled this year and shoot the breeze.
I will always be grateful to Hub for being so nice to me all these years.
I've always been crazy about his Buick "Cinnamon". When I found my '62 Wildkat, I was looking for a '59 or '60 Buick, or a '65 Riviera. Well, the '62 came up and I decided not to let it pass. My late friend Charlie always ribbed me about settling for the Wildkat instead of waiting for the other Buicks.
At the 20th Leadsled, I finally got to meet Hub face to face. Me and Charlie were checking out Hub's car at the host hotel. I was standing back watching Charlie video tape it. I didn't know that Charlie had already met Hub earlier in the day and they had arranged a special surprise for me. Hub walks up and we all start chatting. Then Charlie tells Hub how much I've always loved his car and asked him if I could sit in it behind the wheel. Hub said "Sure, no problem, but I don't know why anyone would want to sit in that old car." Blew my mind! Needless to say, it was a once in a lifetime experience sitting in an iconic car owned by one of the true good guys in the world of customs.
    Thanks Hub! E

Found this picture taken at the 2005 KKOA Spectacular. It was on the Carnut.com site.
