Dave, I certainly remember your Chev, tastefully done, it was one of my favorites.

Love that peach 55 Chevy with the flames....I haven't ever seen that one before. I haven't ever seen the Merc just above it before either.

My pics didn't turn out the best because of the lighting but here's my Packard at the drive-in this weekend. It's also got a shaved hood and grille emblem deleted but you can't see it from this angle.

At another show over the weekend, of the 500+ rides, only one worthy of being a custom, a few others but they were the "RR" kind.

^^ looks like maybe a '49 Ford 4 door sedan with 2 door sedan front doors swapped on but kept the rear door frames as rear quarter windows? Can't quite figure out how that one was put together.

    There was a 2-door Club Coupe and a 2-door Sedan in 1949.

I don't know what it started out as but the quarter windows aren't like a two-door coupe or sedan. They do kind of look like four door windows but the C pillar doesn't seem as wide as a four door. The quarter windows also appear to "pop-out" at the back. I'd like to know what the story is on it......

Are those type 3 tail lights?

Actually, now that I look I think the taillights AND the quarter windows are from a Type 3 notchback.

I know this is OT but am posting it for reference to the quarter windows on the above shoebox.
