Are the outsides of the grill painted out to give the general "appearance" of a LaSalle-type grill?

Thanks. It's a very cool car, I assume it had a rumble seat too? Appears to be a step pad on the rear fender....

Yes Jim painted the grill. That is so cool for a 15 year old, he also chopped the top and it still folded.

So cool to see so many different changes that work that were done back then that folks don't even look back at the old mags for ideas today and try (me included) and just do the same ol same ol

In 1960 the Darryl Starbird built Predicta bubble top show car won the "Car of the Future" award at the National Roadster Show in Oskland, California. This photo of the car comes from the Kustomrama Photo Collection, and we believe it was taken at the 1960 National Roadster Show! It really looks like a survivor! what a great job ! i loved it in gold and white, loved it in white with gold scallops, but i found it a little deceiving in white...this car is screaming for a tutone!! just my 2 cents....

Nice, Nice, Nice 51 Fleetline, Moriarty! Have you any history/specs on this prime example of a traditional custom?

Ditto. Some "feature" cars, and some "Reader's Rides", just like the little books. It's all good!

Dan, It's good to see you in this corner. I don't travel to the main board much, so I miss seeing your artistry.
I hope all is well with you this side of the heavens.

Thanks for the research, Moriarty! I like the part of the unusual use of a 54 Pontiac grill bar. Well I guess it would be unusual to use a grill bar from just a 3 year old car! But that poncho grill bar became very popular later, especially in shoebox fords.
