Curious Mark, the banner says Davenport, WN...would that be Wisconsin BEFORE the Post office used the abbreviation WI...???

It is Washington, the 55 Chev custom in the pic is the first version of the blue Chevy I currently own.

I first saw the Blue Chevy at a couple Tri-Five Chevy shows in Omaha Nebraska in about 80 and 81. The primmered shots are from Des Moines Goodguys show from a 4 or 5 years ago. I believe it was there last year(2016) too. My pic`s of it are still on my camera. I always liked this car and thought it might of been an old custom. Any history on the car, Mark. I know I have more pic`s of it. Somewhere. Scan0099.jpg Scan0097.jpg Scan0098.jpg

The car was first done in the early 60's. Denny Heapy told me the original guys name but I can't remember for the life of me. he lived in southern mn. I first saw the car at the Mn street machine ***ociation show in Eden Prarie mn in about 1980 and was blown away by the *****in candy blue paint and white interior, not to mention the dressed out 348. I always wanted to find it and restore it to its 1962 version. But Denny told me everyone thought it was ugly back then. Lat time I saw it it had black primer and pink wipers and black wheels....yuk

Dave built it. I vaguely recall hearing something about his brother also but do not know that for sure.

Thanks Sancho & Mark for the info. I hadn't seen a color picture of the sedan.

Man I hate what Zupan did to this car. I understand it given the time frame and at this stage it would have been easily reversed (and he had worse things being done to it before he p***ed away and it got stolen) but it still makes me cringe.

Did you know Doug Thompson is Ray Farhner`s son. See post 4599-4601 to see tat it`s proved not to be true. If you don`t know who these people are. Do a search. Scan0101.jpg Scan0102.jpg
