I agree 100% Can you imaging how much kooler it would look with the front end fixed properly. It would peg the kool factor gauge.

Lets have some fun. I don't have a list but this is one I had always thought it would be kool to own. If that would ever happen, I would only change the width of the front end. You believe this would ruin the legacy of the kustom? I don't think it would. If I would change the front fender wells than I would agree with you.

See how the tires fit within the fender well, This is an easy fix they have the wrong size wheels.... Very cl***y looking.

Thanks for sharing your link, going to have to go back and check it out.

  14. I think I misunderstood. The wheel offset is strange in the new pictures versus the old ones. I agree about changing the wheels to get them to tuck better. I thought changing the wheelwells is what was being talked about. I guess I got my signals crossed. Sorry 'bout that. Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming..........E

I was definitely talking about changing the wheel wells. I respect and acknowledge your position on historical customs and preserving them but at some point their is an albeit hazy line between preserving history, and just a car that was built a long time ago.

Like I said, I respect your stance but in my mind that 39 isn't the Hirohata Merc. But, the whole point is moot because I probably wouldn't want to pay the price for that car then enter into all that entails to change it to my liking. So... carry on, don't mind my ramblings! :)

Edit: To Mick's point, the wheels being tucked in does help it a lot even with the large wheel openings.
