I kind of dig this Merc and I usually despise any sort of "graphics"/striping on them.

 

I think the Merc is real kool. I agree with you the graphics don't have a place on most Mercs but this one I wouldn't change a thing.

 

I like the paneling under the Buick trim as well. I think it adds some interest to a modification that in my eyes is getting a little stale.

 

I came close to buying that car when the original owner had it up for sale. Concerns with our registration and importation at the time made me drop the plan.Even had it profesionally inspected over there and it was an excellent car. The owner was building a new custom Ford Shoebox also at that time

If I remember correctly, this beauty was originally built as the tow vehicle for a drag car.
(Which might explain the four doors.)
I find the little bit of blue accent paint that anchors the side-trim to the wheel well to be particularly effective.
