@Sancho Tell me it isn`t the same car. But it looks like it. See the continental kit and the Missouri plate. This pic was taken in the 80`s. Scan0714.jpg

  3. One would think it has to be. Other than the middle section of the grill and the missing skirts and hubcaps it looks identical.

Here is a pic from the rear from my dad`s collection from the same time frame. Scan0716.jpg I`d like to hear the story of the car and how it ended up like that.

Yes, this is the one. Nick Beard brought it home and he hopes to have it back on the road for the Lead Ain't Dead show.

  6. That's awesome.

Front tag surround was added later too.

  7. Same car, even the side pipes are the same.

I hope he is getting it on the road in as built condition and not as found! If a person thinks it is cool to cruise it as is, then in my opinion they should have left it where it was. Customs are meant to be show stoppers not junkyard refugees. Larry

It was featured in a magazine called Popular Customs. A magazine worth buying Scan0721.jpg Scan0719.jpg Scan0720.jpg when you can find it.

If the name Dave Puhl rings a bell, it's because he built a slew of customs, including the "Trenedero" Ranchero.
To my mind, that '57 Chevy was (by far) the best of the lot.
