Crazy to think all those custom Mercs in 1985 were only 35 years old, now they're nearly twice that. I can't imagine a fairgrounds full of people looking at customized 1983 model cars. It's a real testament to the popularity of that design.

But it happens, they’re called GM G bodies and low rider shows. Still will never be as cool as a Merc though.

How 'bout a few Canadian kustoms...??? Shot in Red Deer , Alberta, Canada at the Rock n' Red Deer car show while we were traveling Canada early August, 2018.... IMG_7737.JPG
    Four door Merc...

    Merc coop...

    Rare Nash Healy...

    IMG_7797.JPG
'48 Stude (I think) with '50-'51 front clip...

    IMG_7761.JPG
"58 Pontiac Bonneville with Tri-power...a 'kustom' from the factory...

    IMG_7764.JPG
And lastly, a nice silver Merc...Out of about 450 cars at the event, there were a lot more 'kustoms' there but they were contemporary kustoms sporting billet wheels and blackwalls...unfortunately, too many eras were mixed on those cars...!!!

^^ I have to wonder if that slick, exceptionally well laid-out chop job was done by the same guy who flat-bolted those '59 Cadillac taillights to the rear of that coupe? Not sure if I can think of two modifications on the same car that are more at odds with each other.
