I'd ditch the lakes and come up with a different grille, but the "sectioned-but-unchopped" look is one of my favorites. [emoji16]

This sure looks like the late Elwood and Lois Dapp's '49 Buick once known as "The Big Bopper".



It looked like this at least until the mid 90s. This picture was from the 1994 Leadsled Spectacular in Huntsville, Alabama.

@BrewtownPrez posted a picture of it after it was sold to Phil De Marini. Mr. De Marini had it chopped with a few other mods and had it painted purple with scallops. At that point it looked like this:



I don't know if the red Buick is the same car, but it has a lot of similarities. I also don't know the time line of this car (if it is the same one) as to when it was red. Is this the same car?
