Back in 1981,I met this guy with a chopped Cameo. Gerry Galster who was the state Colornel for the KKOA and soon started a charter club KKOM. This is his other custom a 54 Mercury.

 

This is Gerry Galster's Chopped Cameo from the Back to the 50's show.

 

I cant remember his name,even tho it looks stock,this 55 Dodge has 56 Dodge fins grafted on the body,

This is one serious Kustom that you should see in other pics if possible. It was featured in a book that tells the story of hwo it was built and it was incredible for its time and still timeless today.

Great shot above for contrast and comparison. Buick v Pontiac. Similar headlight treatment but different. Two really great cars that I have had the pleasure of seeing in person in Salina. I can immerse myself in kustoms there. Mild to wild. The peripheral non-kustom stuff at the show falls by the wayside for me. Long live the kustoms!!
