You have a fuckin kool kemp my friend ! anyway, you did a little error in your description ! the side trim is not from a 50 Mercury... but from a 51 ! Your car is very close to perfect ! the only thing it need is to have the rear closer to the ground, or at least the front a little higher than the rear ! Please feel free to post more pics of that baby !

Hi tuff tin yes I will never part with the 53 and any info on ron seiker will be appreciated I took this car to the unfinished nationals and meet a guy named divers who had it his shop for ron last. I got it from a guy named mooney from grand cooley washington just a chance meeting while I was camping. this car has some awsome mods and it will be my winter time and bad weather driver as I have this 34 5window chevy for the summers. again any info on ron would be appreciated I would love to find one of the t shirts that were made in memorie of him to keep with the car. to anyone who knows it, it will always be the ron seiker 53. you can email me at ruppjk@msn.com thanks
I sold it on eBay a couple of years ago to a guy in Houston, then missed it so much I bought it back. It is an old 50's custom. George Barris said his shop built the wind splits at the tail lights. The more research I've done on the car, I'm not so sure that is the case. With Rik's (Rikster) help I believe Leonard Dobola for NY owned and built the car in the early to mid 50's.
I Gave Bonesy A Name Of A Friend Of Mine In Buffalo That Knows The History Of The Car From Day One.he Was Also An Original Member Of The Clutch Artist Cc In Buffalo.joe
Hi 50mercfan, this 53 chevy was started for a guy named ron seiker. a sign painter and pinstriper, he passed away before it was finished. so far thats about all I have on it. I will be finishing it in the traditional style it was started in, it will be my winter driver. from what I can tell it was started sometime around late 80s early 90s all mods were leaded no mud yet I say yet because I am not that acomplished to of a body guy I will get some more pics on soon. Thanks
i remembered it because of the distinctive rear window. it's a great looking car. whats the roof of off? chevy? any pics of it back in the day?
thanks for the pics. that car has a lot going for it. if this is your WINTER driver, i can't imagine what your summer driver looks like!
Thanks. The top, dash and Crestliner wheel are all '50 Ford. The grill is '46 Olds. It amazes me that some guy took all these pieces over 50 years ago, put them together, and makes it look like is was always supposed to be there.
anybody see this one on ebay? started in the late 50's by some of winfields and barris' employees for a rod and custom customer after the dream truck was totaled, but, wasn't finnished. the rear fenders are actually off of the dream truck from when they removed them to build the fins. i must admit, the r&c "dream truck" was never one of my favorite kustoms. i like this one better. it didn't sell. went to a little over 20 grand.
WOW Bonesy! I never knew that your car was a legacy. That would be soooo cool to have a surviver custom! You're a lucky man...and smart for buying it back! What was the original color? Did you change anything from it's original build?
The car was orange. It was painted the current purple about 10 years ago in NY and kinda streetrodded up. The nailhead was replaced with a 455 Olds. I've been chaning the look back to a more traditional look. I've redone the solid axle suspension and now I'm rebuilding a Buick mill to stick back in it. Some days I like the current color, but I feel pretty strongly a good old black paint job is in its near future. I've un-streetrodded a few cars, now I feel it is the '47's time. As a matter of fact, if someone can photoshop me a picture of this car black with 3.5" www I would appreciate it. (Right now they are 2.5") Thanks.
I don't think it would stand out as much in black. The purple looks really good to me. Actually it would probably look great any color...
Hi 50mercfan heres my last summer driver th 23 rpu which I traded for the 53 chevy,my anyday but rain day driver the 34 chevy, and the new summer driver a 26 cowl turned 26 rpu
i was just cruising craigslist and look what i found! i think it looked much better in blue! Blue is the before, from a few years ago when it was on ebay, and the new Candy red/wine color is its current state
