History L.A. Hot Rods at the beginning

    My family has deep roots in Hot Rodding around Los Angeles after WW2... I am trying to collect some info from the beginning , so digging this very close to my heart thread. IMG_1063.JPG

    That’s my dad’s 29 at Muroc in 1938-9 with no fenders. My mother took the photo. A single Winfield carb that day and the grille bars out of the shell for some reason. Mom told me he never made a timed speed run. He passed away in 1963 when I was 19.

    Tom Medleys Coupe /now Dads... Around 1955 Glendale Ca. Blew the soft top off it around 120-125mph at the lakes. Coming back to life over 60 years later! IMG_1122[3319].JPG

    What a thread! Reading it and going back to look again at pics and seeing Isky and 'the Boys'...
    It was similar to the feeling I got last time after driving into my driveway here (Atwater) back home from my trip to Pomona show.
