Used to park on the street a half a block away from the entrance. Now you park in San Dimas and ride a tram. The swap at the Great western in the Late '60-early '70 era was something we will never see again.
We'll be there set up in Building 4 with the J2X Allard on display on our booth, world debut Preview available at our annual Open House Thursday , noon till whenever, The Taco Girl will be there again this year, back by popular demand, with lunch. I'll post up a Thread next week with full details & map for outa towners.See you all there.
The NHRA Wally Parks Museum is located on the fairgrounds and is well worth your time. Also, someone else has mentioned SoCal's open house Friday night.
I am flying out next sat for San Francisco to meet up with some friends. Then we are heading down to the show in their Roadsters. Can not wait to start my dream holiday. It will be good to catch up with old mates and make new ones. Cheers Ripples.
Thanks for the web site info, I hope they are going to let us line up on Thursday again, it*****s having to do laps all night long,
Know what you mean!!--------I forgot to mention the swappers lined up all night long drinking beer &******** on the neighbors plants & shrubs!! They didn't "Cotton" to our annual Fathers Day show & probably were happy when we moved to Pomona Fairgrounds.-------Don
it's looks like they just swapped the preffered parking and the swapmeet. So we go in the same gate and same entrance, just turn right inside instead of left.
Steve, Can you send me some photos of the car and your booth? I'd like to post them on the Register web site... Cheers, Colin
Looks like the new layout is going to be good! Consolidated swap area=less empty space between sites. Swap area closer to restrooms. Preferred parking people forced to walk through swap area and maybe buy stuff when they want to use restrooms. Thats IF they dont move the restrooms on the oppsite side... Bad for the guys who snagged up the shady tree spots every year though.
For those that have been to this before,is it a good venue to look for prospective unfinished runners or is it more a parts swapmeet than anything else.thanks
My dad told me on the phone the other day that all the trees had been removed due to the fact that the asphalt was buckling everywhere around them at it was a safety hazard. Is this true? Bring popups if this is the case. I liked the trees.
im goin just to see "chevy54"s bad**** car in real life. the pictures of that car posted on here make me physically weak. im dyin to see it for real right here in my backyard.
I will be there on sunday. I will be driving in with my stock 1930 roadster. it was painted last in 1955 and upholstered also in 1955. it has never been restored and is worn out but I still take it to the LA Roadster show. some how it makes it there (aprox 55 miles oneway) with its piston slaping rod knocking, wornout clutch and sometimes overheating motor.
I've been hearing about this fabulous Mexican restaurant for years. Where is it and do you have it's name? Thanks
Many of the tress that have been there for ever are gone. But I was there for a Dog Show two weekends ago and they were putting in New Palm Trees like crazy - BUT it won't offer anywhere near the shade that you are thinking of. EZ Ups for sure.
