Whats with the black volga? funky rear lights? Like the beat up wagon :D has a real street attitude.
Anyway, i dont want to change your mind, but how can you say bags are easier?? Besides, hydraulics can be run even with 1 battery. You dont need to hop to have hydros. And a real og bomba should run on oil IMO.
But regardless, keep up the great work, im anxious to see this thing layed out

the rear lights is original, it's not a GAZ24 it's a GAZ3102-luxury version of the 24, in USSR this model been only for midlevel officials, not for ordinary people.
i know that the hydro isn't for hopping only, when i say "easy" i mean that it's much easy to install & connect, and of course much easy to buy)
i'm agree with you, but at now we build all stuff for an air, and build a new stuff is take a lot of time and money), i think that air is not so "untrue" for staring new work, i hope you understand me

  12. Thanks for posting......I find it interesting. Should be a unique car
    when done.:)

For me the hight is ok now, it's the maximum without the big change you do.

As this car was original planed with this engine the motor fits verry well at first sight. Only the clutch bell needed al little mor space.
But now ther is to less space for a sufficient radiator even with a electric fan in front. It works now in "normal" speed, but a longer time of full throttle gets me in trouble. The engine is HOT, an there is not much space!

ok, i know about the original planed, but i don't know about differences of serial body and prototype
can you show me some photos of your engine bay?

:D Thats low.... what axle is it?
My radiator is from Opel Corsa, the only on fitting in the smal space I left. Finaly I hat to use a thicker radiador block, but it's still to less for permanent high speed (by the way 130kmh)

  22. Impressd with your work so far!
Just wondering, in Russia, do they have custom car shows (indoor, outdoor?) Also do they have hot rod retailers where you can order parts from, or do you have to import them yourself? If so, who and from where do you get your parts?

not so low as it must be, 5cm clearance)
    axle from GAZ24
ok, we want to use an original one, so that means that we must cut the firewall
thanks, we try to be better everytime

thanks, but it no so far as it seems)
we have a 1 good show for restorers, the custom workshops can show their works in it, but the price for the place for 1 car is 2000$, i think that's too much.
besides we have an show that our friend Ivan Fedorov do every summer, called "Only Dropped picnic" it's a good summer show for the low and retro cars and bikes, and we do our personal shows 1 at the spring, called "Last coil of the spring"-it's free, but with serious selection and only for low cars, 2nd-at the autumn, called "Radical autumn" every time this show have a different theme and place suitable for this theme (last show called "Radical autumn absolution rite" and was dedicated for a doomsday), of course the serious selection and only for lows.
i want to see more customs at our shows, but this culture is just started and the number of good customs like a number of fingers on a hand, and all of them "in process".
we have no hot rod retailers, only the retro wheels, and retro details for russian rares, so we import all parts that we need ourselves, this way have a lot of problems includes a much bigger price than in U.S., but we have no choice

  24. Ha, ha, that's a great title! As many have already said, this will be an interesting thread to follow; with great work and new perspectives from yet another corner of the vintage rod and custom community! That car is going to be a cool ride when done!
