Whoa Partner....your right things have changed and NOT for the better but No Car Culture In California...I grew up in LA in the 60's raced at Lyons, cruised Hawthorne Blvd, the A&W, the Witchstand, Harvey's Broiler Etc, raced at Lyons on Sunday ...and did a lot of street racing....we now live in the Temecula Valley and every Friday night its old school cruising in Escondido Ca, open headers, cruising all night...it's called Cruising Grand...yeah it's not the same but what is unless you live in a town of 5,000 and there has been 0 growth except for the new Walmart....and the Dairy Queen?...there is still a huge car culture here in Ca...great weather year round...in the 60's none of us went to "car shows" we cruised, now its car shows...there are still a lot of hot rod history hear, The Peterson, NHRA Museum, The Automotive Driving Museum in El Segundo, Randy's Hot Rod Museum in Lake Elsinore and more car shows here than anywhere else in the US...Pomona Drag Strip and several 1/8th Mile ones on Indian casino property.
As a Southern Californian native who has moved on, and for those of you who have stayed, for God's sake, STOP calling it Cali! (and that goes for PCH also)
