It's that time o' year again! I'm in Huatulco, prepping for the race. Prequalification is tomorrow, and Friday is the start of the race. Photos here.
That IS lots of fun. I've gone down there 3 times in the past - once to spectate and twice to race. Those are some great pictures. Were you Tom Silver's copiloto a few years ago?

Yeah. Very sad. Such a good guy. Here's a couple things you might remember... if you dare! Good luck and remember: Save the machinery. You can't win if you don't finish!!! Bob
Todd Landon (who built the GT350 we raced in '06) is our mechanic this year. The Olds is down here again too. I forgot to check if the bottle opener is still mounted on the gas door.
Brings back memories, some good, some not so good. I was part of a crew in the 1991 Panamericana. Man what a trip that was. I've always wanted to do it again. Best of luck to you and all the other racers. Keep those posts coming.
During today's qualifying, my good friend Clyde Morter, rolled The Lucky Taco off the road and into the jungle. I am waiting for a phone call to find out how Clyde and his navigator are and if the car is repairable. Not everyone had run yet when I recieved a phone call but besides Clyde a Porsche and one of the Jags had crashed as well. From what I heard the Jag had a sticky throttle. http://lacarrera2007.blogspot.com/
The latest news on The Lucky Taco Team... http://lacarrera2007.blogspot.com/2009/10/new-video-lucky-taco-update.html
That's terrible news. I heard they had gone off the road and hoped the car was not destroyed. We raced that car in 2006 and took third in the Original Pan Am class! Hope they can get it back on the road!
Help offered to Team Lucky Taco. http://lacarrera2007.blogspot.com/2009/10/la-carrera-panamericana-at-its-best.html
The Durango Deuce is so cool(the little blue nova). Heres its predecessor crashing a couple years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hzc7gao4Ok
Update on Lucky Taco. I was able to get Team Lucky Taco hooked up with the Ferrari dealership in Mexico City and they are on their way to pick up The Lucky taco as I type this. http://lacarrera2007.blogspot.com/20...-lucky-in.html
Jeez, the last I have been able to find out about Geri and Coop are that they were in 98th place after day 1 with times that indicate they didn't run that day. Can't find any other results at this time!
Gerie & Coop had cooling problems one stage and then had some navigation problems but they are still in the race. Just being in the running is an amzing feat in it's self. It's also important to realize Gerie spends a lot of time making sure everyone else ios taken care of when he could be a jerk and think only of himself but that's just not his style. One hell of a guy and Coop is one hell of a team mate. Today there was a high attrition rate and some major carnage but Gerie & Coop are still running strong. http://lacarrera2007.blogspot.com/2009/10/day-3-results.html http://lacarrera2007.blogspot.com/
