i am doing a lace pattern on the roof of my 52 ford "Jane" this winter. if i use a table runner as a pattern can i use the same piece for the 2nd panel? I am thinking of useing white and maroon as the colors ( thats what i have on the shelf! :)) i have done some great reading here on how to do this and am very excited

    thanks all

dont think so the fabric will get pretty hard after you use it once. the fabric is cheap enough i would buy some more fabric to do the second panel just so you know it will lay out good and wont bleed through

I did lace back in the day, Use another piece for other colors or they will bleed

Its best to use a second piece. BUT you can wash the lace (i wash mine with jeans on heavy cycle) and it will soften up for a second use.

Dampen the lace, or throw down a mid coat clear and it helps to stick it down a bit better.

Its really the easiest trick in the book, took me about 2 tries at it to feel like i've "mastered" it
