So my car needs the roof repainted. Its the original white paint from the factory. Its pretty nice for being original. But the rest of the car has been repainted and I want the roof to have the more fresh look like the rest of the car. Painting the roof will be a pretty easy weekend job. going to go with about the same creamy white as original. But Ive been looking at "ghost" lace, or pearl white lace. My thought is to have it almost invisible unless you are right on top of it. Anyone have opinions and or thoughts on it? I want my car to have a little more of a custom feel and I think that will help without killing the overall look of the car.

    I will vote nah.
Your ride is cl***y.Its clean and the stance is spot on. The ghost lace is cool, but it wouldn't do much of a difference on the appearance.

I'll vote no on your car as well. Lace is for customs/mild customs and your car looks more traditional other than the change in wheel covers. I say keep the car cl***y.

Another vote for no. Not a fan of that on any car, but especially yours.

I'd vote no if it were a full on lace job. But, what you're describing I think would work with the colors of your car. But, I think the key would be keeping it almost invisible. It's a cl***y ride and either way it'll look great!.

I also vote no lace. The car is very cool as it sits. Just like a winning streak in sports....don't @#$% with it.

You want a more custom look so go for it........ simple as that. No need to seek permission its yours and obviously you'd like it a bit flashier that it is right now, do it. The only opinion that matters is yours so feel free to ignore mine along with all the others.

When I had my Victoria I wanted to do it mild custom. everyone kept saying " oh it's a Victoria- don't mess it up"; so I ended up doing a resto on it. It was still fun but I always resented the fact that I let myself get talked out of what I wanted. If you think it would look cool- go for it! the good news if you don't like it you can just re-shoot it.

yes it ''looks good'' however it can always look better. My dad used to indulge my car craziness by taking me to a local shopping center that on a monthly basis would do an inside the mall car show. As much as I love cars found nothing fun at seeing nothing but a row of identical as delivered from the factory cars. The ones that really made an impact were modified and made personal by the owner. You need to ask how you see
yourself as a car guy. If that image is as a "restorer" then leave it alone. If part of you wants it as built by the numbers leave it alone. But if there is the least bit of you that wants to drive something flashy then follow your desires and do a lace job. I think bondojunkie said it all.

It looks like you are going for a custom look since you already lowered it, added Caddy hub caps. Mr Henry Ford didn't put it out of the factory that way. So my point is, it is your car do what makes you happy, and enjoy it.

I never gave it a second thought when I lowered and added the flames to my 54.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Im not looking for permission, and Im not going to totally base my decision on what others say. Like some of you said, its my car and it should look the way I want it too. I am split on either to just paint it white or lace it too. I will most likely paint it white again and then I can always add lace later on if I feel it needs it. I just dont want to kill the look and feel of the car. I hate seeing cars that are overdone, or wouldve looked better (imo) if they were just left alone. I do have plans to louver a hood and shave a few emblems on the front end. So then it would make it even more of a mild custom. Really in my eyes my car is hardly a mild custom. If you put stock spings back in it and ford caps. Its a stocker all day long. I love the way it looks now!!! The roof just needs some tlc and thought, hmmm maybe add something a little custom. Like I wrote before, I will most likely just paint it the right color white and think about something more custom later. Thanks again for the input guys.
