Ladder bars

I am planning to replace the ends on my ladder bar over the Winter, how can you tell if they are right or left hand thread?

take a real close look at the exposed threads , you should be able to tell . if you can't see anything , if you have to turn them counterclockwise to take them out they are right hand , if you turn them clockwise to take them out they are left hand
