I am building a ‘32 roadster with lake pipes and am using a ‘35-‘36 driveshaft cut in half. I want to cap the ends of the pipes with removable caps as done on salt lake racers. The diameter of the pipe will be approx 2-3/4”. What was used back in the day to cap these lake pipes? Thank you
I've never done it and I'm not positive on what's traditional. But I've always thought that the threaded caps with welded on big-ass wing nuts looked pretty cool and I imagine they work pretty good. Keep a pair of welding gloves handy.
Not really, I have only a few left, for floater hub covers. I wish I had thought of it, sometime back, when my foundry guy was handy.
