heres a few pictures of my 30-31' ford roadster im building.im trying to build it as close to possible to a late 40's hot rod/lakes roadster as possible.i got the body in pieces for free and the whole ch***is was picked up for $500 and is about 95% complete.hopefully ill have this thing running within a few months.my only problem is im not sure wether to channel it a few inches or not.the doors are welded shut and i figured it might look better and help with getting in and out. heres the body pieced toghether heres how it sets as of today
Channeled roadsters are an East Coast thing. A tad unusual but occasionally seen at the lakes. Looking at what you have and where you are I think channeling is a viable option. ***uming you are not a pro basket ball player.
what would be a good way to lower the car without a dropped axle or modifying the frame? i do plan on running smaller wheels too
i had found this picture and the car seemed pretty bad*** and i thought about having mine like that cause i like the stance but if i can lower the suspension just a little that would work too but i dont know how to go about it
Dont channel it, it will never be the same. Find some subrails and mount her on the frame. If you were to channel it, it better be laying on the ground. Plus, 99.9% of the most attractive cars are not channeled.
If you want it down a bit you can remove some of the spring leaves. And/or have a reversed eye on them. At least that way you don't have to cut the frame, etc. Good luck on it. Mine sits high too, so I know where you are coming from.
just ordered a repair manual so i can get the engine running.should i be fine runnung the stock brakes for now?
"just ordered a repair manual so i can get the engine running.should i be fine runnung the stock brakes for now?" As long as they are good. Mechanical brakes are just as good for a car that light.
