So I just broke in my cam on my warmed up flatty (60 over, 3/8 potvin cam etc etc etc). It was real loud but sounded great with the lakester headers. After a few weeks of pulling it in and out of the garage to get everything finished for it’s maiden ride I’ve come to thinking it’s way too loud to enjoy a long drive. So I bought some fiberglass packing and strapped it on the baffles. Here’s what I found and figured I’d share.
Here’s the decibel info when sitting in the drivers seat.
    OPEN HEADER……..BAFFLES………..WRAPPED BAFFLES

I love it when people post results-or even solutions to a problem previously posted. Really good video!

    1. It sounds like maybe the idle was a bit slower with the wraps? Maybe that's just the high frequency sounds being muffled?

    2. Can you please do a vid with either a drive by a stationary camera, or an in-cockpit view? To get an idea of how the system sounds at cruise? (even if you only do the wrapped one. I wouldn't ask you to take the wrap back off again unless it's super easy)

Yes the ear piercing highs were removed with the wrap. I’ll get a driving video when I take it on its maiden voyage.
I thought the idle was slower also but the tach was around 900 on both.

That's awesome. A 15dB decrease in the driver's seat is significant.

I like the deeper, throaty sound with the wrap best.

Not just because of noise reduction but because of the richer deeper sound.

Thanks for posting this. Sounds great with both. The baffle/wrap version is a bit too tame for me, but I didn't hear the open version (if you have one) I just got mine installed and running. Red's headers and short open pipe to '35 driveshaft. It's really loud, but that's inside the garage. I think I'm going to need to add baffles for at least the early morning drives.

Can you provide links on where you got the baffles?
    Thanks!

I'd like to run over to your shop sometime. Either with the roadster or the chopped Merc.
