Nice to know there are a lot of positive thinkers here. Jesus guys, didn't your mother ever teach you, "...if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"? I mean after all, isn't this site and other car guy sites ALL ABOUT buying what others consider, "rusty, dirty, ****ty, dented" cars and then spending money on them because we have more than brains?!
Ok, I was not going to bring this up, but I guess I will... Some hambers actually thought all those 60-66 chevy pickups were shipped to the dealer without bedwood, and the dealers installed the wood. Shows just how people think when the words "new cars and trucks!!, stored for 50 years!!!! A collectors dream!!... The trucks sat outside and the wood completely rotted away for crying out loud. Those beds cannot be tightened down to the ch***is without bedwood! Just get so tired of all the bogus hype with these filthy rot buckets. Geez, they still had piles of dirt banked up against the windsheilds? What am I missing here?
I'd really like to see a TV show that features the goobers that buy this ****, and have an in depth story on how that made the money they just pissed away. We all might learn something. Bob
And that's just what the average citizen is thinking, when a hot rodder hauling a pile of rust, cruises by on the freeway. What I don't get, is how some of you can talk **** about these rusty cars, yet go all "little girl", when someone shows a pic of a rusted through cowl. Is it the crazy price paid or is this rust not as good as "barn find" rust?
There are far less unrestored PRE 1940 vehicles out there, and they are worth the time and expence to rebuild. The cars in the above mentioned auction sold for over the cost of a rebuilt/restored car. Sure, it isn't my money and I don't care how others piss it away, but it just sets the wrong image to people in general IMO. Then again, people will pay money to watch a basketball game. Bob
Worlds lowest mile Cameo. Wow. Look the owner/neglector and the auction co. made out BIG. Good for them. BUT, how that event applies to the specific function of this web site is a mystery. We are not 'all car guy's' here. Correct? The Hub Garage is for everyone w/ wheels.
There was an article in the local newspaper that said 18 unclaimed vehicles would be sold on-line. The 1.7 mile Corvair is a**** the cars for sale. The article also said there was someone from NY that bought 14 vehicles and the transportation company took his money and ran. I have a hard time believing that story. Yvette VanDerBrink said she thought all this was a case of buyers remorse.
I got an email the other day about the 2nd chance cars...went and looked and the prices were already getting crazy on them again.
