Hey guys, just a heads-up that I've added some new stuff to my "LAND SPEED RECORD" website--audio from the 1960s. Here's the link:

    http://www.samuelhawley.com/lsr.html

First up, under "Green Monster," are four clips from 1965: three of Art Arfons and crew on the salt, and one of them back in Wendover at the Western Motel after Art set his record. This audio has never been made public before.

Second, under "Spirit of America," is a clip from 1964 of the run where Craig Breedlove broke through 500 mph--and nearly killed himself in the process. I've also added a pretty neat Beach Boys song from 1963: "Spirit of America."

Finally, under "Infinity," is a clip from my 2009 interview with Vic Elischer, one of the four principles in the project. In this clip Vic recalls the crash that killed Glenn Leasher. Vic and Tom Fukuya were the first on the scene.

    Enjoy!
