large european roadster identification

  1. HAMBers,
    since one can always experience the unlimited knowledge of the hamb collective, here's another hard one:
    it was in the "readers help readers" section of a German classic car magazine. the owner asks for help and I'd be curious to know what happens if the HAMB joins the quiz. And I'd be glad to help...
    Given info:
    - high quality making
    - metal over wooden frame
    - original color, green-blue
    - originally maybe mounted on a Delage chassis
    - wheel base ca. 3,4m / 11,15ft

    This looks like a pre war Audi to me, possibly a Type 225 from about 1937.

    Horch. More precisely, the car that is owned by Judge Joe Cassini and won Pebble Beach a few years back. It is silver now.
