Technical Larger gas tanks

I was looking at replacing my 40 gas tank which is junk anyway, with a 16 gal tank. Has anyone had one of these oversized tanks in there 40? They say it hangs an inch or so lower than stock tank. I don't see any issues other than maybe exhaust? Thanx

 

I had a 35 coupe (same frame) and swapped out the gas tank for a larger unit. (Forget what brand). I had to cut my exhaust pipes off in front of the tank. ( dual pipes with straight pipes out the back). The tank was almost 2" lower.

 

Can never have too much gas unless your on fire
