We should have a web site going and will begin to add inventory to it every day here pretty soon I hopel Will keep you posted! And Evan's going to pick up a bunch more shelving units tomorrow, AND we're lining out some high school kids to come clean and polish up the parts for the summer.........gonna be a fun summer guys!

Chris, I am in two minds weather to be in awe or to be shocked at what you have undertaken.

I think you guys are to be unsung hero's to many a builder looking for those missing parts as long as your sanity hold up to the task.

This is one of those times I wish I didn't live in Australia so that I could take a week or two just to fly down and help you guys out. Just having the opportunity to rummage through all of these parts and to soak up all of the history that is held within it all would be close to heaven.

I wish you both the best of luck and good fortune with this venture I believe you deserve it.

And Denise, I can't wait to hear how you describe what you see should you visit there.

While I'd love to visit again, I can't see it happening any time soon. I was in Montana last summer and have no plans to visit that area of the country again for a few more years. I'll actually visit Australia again before I visit Montana again.:D

Wow!!! I am impressed. By the way, if you think ebayers are bad, you should deal with some of the folks on Craigslist. I had a guy who threatened me and called me every dirty name he could thing of...And I was just trying to GIVE him a computer, for free! But you're right, ebay has gotten so big that they think they can get away with whatever they want. A real General Motors (or BP) attitude.

Start with lots of pics of each and a location so people can figure shipping... HAMBers will help you with ID and doubtless some offers.

I count about 20 total, look like mostly 1930s, many (most?) only good for parts. All the GM products will probably have bad wood. I wouldn't suggest you pay much more than scrap value because some are probably scrap and all are bunches of work to drag around.

  14. I'll take the orange and yellow one next to the building...:D

You ever get a chance to check on those 5 identical carbs? Still no hurry...

Apparently the yellow & orange one was pretty popular up & down the west coast in the 70's. The ol' guy's name is Jerry LaFountan and he's a coooool ol' skool drag racer with some pretty cool stories to tell from back then, and that yellow & orange one (I can't remember the name of it for the life of me) holds some kinda honors in NHRA history for somethin' havin' to do with it's real short wheelbase.....I guess it was a real monster he said! And he said it was the hardest car in all the world to chop....a gremlin......

Still unpackin' crates, about 30 left to go, but the most I can find so far of identical 1bbls is 3 late 50's Rochesters....

Man, you must have had some real bad role in a previous life to have that kinda karma. I buy out Italian car parts inventories but I've never seen any that large. Best thing is it looks like the guy was half organized and indentifed it when he got it (figuring out what stuff fits is the worst part of doing this). People bitch about hoarders but I think they are great, all this stuff would be rebars right now if it wasn't for hoarders like this.

Need a set tailight lenses for a 1962 Mercury Monterey if you happen to notice a set...

There is a guy out here in Colorado with a stash of International stuff that large. He has a whole motel and barn full of parts. It is fun to pick through tons and tons of stuff.

It's surprising to me too! I would imagine since he mostly kept the whole stash pretty secret, most people wouldn't have thought he had that much stuff! He said that he just used a 16' u-haul to go to the swap meets most of the time.

I'm pretty sure he's retired now, we got his entire collection.....Evan's leavin to get the laaaaast load in the next couple weeks.

  25. Let Evan know he can stop here in Rapid City if need be, my office is on Exit 55.
