Who holds the largest show in America and how many entries are typically there. NSRA claims 11,000+. Are there any larger ones?
I don't know anything about the Dream Cruise, do they have a registration? BTTF is slowly adding a few every year and the NSRA Street Rod Nationals has been declining since 2008, (something about letting in newer cars to get more participation) so I think it is safe to say BTTF is currently the largest car show in the U.S. (maybe the world?)
Frankly, this is nothing more then a dick measuring contest, but with that said Back to the 50's is the largest in the nation by number of registered cars. The amazing part is it is all '64 and earlier cars. No muscle cars, Mustangs, or NSRA legal Yugo's.
The parking lot at the Indy 500 has the most number of cars....all late model so they are all NSRA legal
I am making a note of the largest so I never think about going to one.... I went to the Dream cruise once..... talk about stuck.... Never again!!! GG Columbus was great. It was big, but I have a buddy who knew the back way in and out, so we passed all the highway back up and traffic.... It was great. We cruised in like we where the only ones there.... I like to support local shows.....and like little shows.....
That's funny. Back to the 50's but is up to '64. I like the large events because I like to take pictures. I like more open shows though as I like the large diversity. I am always looking for the auto I have not seen yet regardless of year or country of origin. It is almost a challenge. I however like the small shows like cruise-ins because the people seem to be more friendly and like to share their stories.
There is no registration for the dream cruise. They will let anyone drive on the streets too. Its a cluster freak of new and old cars. Whoever is in charge of it needs to get it organized better and the normal cars off of woodward!
