I'm ordering mine tonight. When Larry had the shop/gallery in Norco i used to ask him why he didn't have a book made but he wasn't interested. He used to tell me "Ya see all these photo's on the wall......I've got twice that many at home" . I'm glad this book is out.

I ordered mine earlier today and didn't include the shipping, but got charged the sales tax. I got an email from Thom about an hour ago about straightening it out.
Shipping is paid, sales tax is deducted...now I just wait by the mailbox!!:D

Just ordered the Larry Watson book - although there was no price for shipping to Canada, I'm having it shipped to a friend who lives in WNY. The shipping in the U.S. was $12, and $2.63 for the tax.

Can't wait to get the book!
    Thanks,
    Tom - Glass_Packs

  6. Ordered the book yesterday, paid instantly via paypal, and received an email today informing me of "$12 shipping charges" (seems a lot for a book shipped within California) but no instructions of any kind on how to add/pay those "shipping charges" - this smells a bit like a clusterfoxtrot to me . . . hope they can sort it out so everyone who ordered in good faith gets their books . . I'll keep you posted . . .

    wow!wow!wow!
    love this book!
lots of pics I have never seen before of larrys cars,
the story is almost a history of so cal culture from 1955 on,
    great book!
mine even came signed by thom , which was a nice bonus.

I can only hope that thom and larrys family can get together and still do the 2nd and 3rd volumes like they had planned.

For those of us who weren't paying enough attention and paid without the correct shipping added, where do we stand as of right now? I've paid for the book but shipping was not added, will I be notified of the shipping costs or?

    He sent me this after I did the same thing;
    Hi

Thanks for your book order for Watson’s Custom Car Confessions. We did not have the shipping and California sales tax configured properly, so no shipping charges were applied, and everyone was charged sales tax. Great! We were trying to configure the shipping to zones so we would charge the cheapest Priority Mail cost possible, but it isn’t working. So, unfortunately, we have to charge a flat rate of $12.00 for shipping and handling for DOMESTIC orders. Up to 10 books is still $12.00. Those orders outside California please deduct $2.63 from your shipping charges. If you wish to cancel your order I will gladly refund the amount you paid through PayPal, and apologize for any inconvenience. FOREIGN ORDERS please contact me directly for shipping charges at hotrodthom@cox.net . To be honest we have been inundated with orders, so I will try and have this initial batch of books out by Wednesday. We only printed 1000 books and they seem to be moving rapidly. Thanks for your order, and we hope you enjoy Watson’s Custom Car Confessions.

    Thom Taylor

  23. Thanks! I am not really that concerned about how much it is going to cost as I am about getting a book because I had heard they had sent emails out to guys explaining the situation and I hadn't seen one. Sounds like they are selling more than they expected and may just be behind at contacting people.

Just as everyone else says, this is one way-cool book. My copy - also signed by Thom - came today. Started reading it just a little while ago and it is a very tough book to put down. Extremely glad I added it to my collection!

Guys when your flipping through it and reading the stories, they are his words as told by him! infact some of the stories in the book Larry has told me over some of our Lunch's.

It really is a special book!

I must be in the minority, I was a little disappointed. I expected more cars. Watson was a great painter though. Man I love the 58 T-bird and the 50 Chevy Grapevine.
