Event Coverage LARS, Blake's Take

I'm really glad I decided to go! I motored down with my friend Wayne Rogan in his bright orange 33 three window, 1,000 mi round trip, not too bad.
Really great weather, Saturday's turn out was much better than Friday's and it was really nice to see this great event happening again.
Thursday morning I had breakfast with some members of the California Roadsters club before driving over to the show.

Ahhhhh Blake! I didn't recognize the car (no girl sitting on the front!). We talked, but I didn't realize it was you. We talked about your car, and folks, let me tell you the photos don't do it justice; it is beautiful in person, the paint is amazing, the whole car is very well done. One of my favorites at the show Blake. Sorry I didn't recognize it, next time I will for sure!

To make it easy, why don't you bring that young lady next time and have her pose with the car!

That's funny, I walked over to your car many times looking for you!

 

I was out walking around most of the time. We did put up some shade and rested our feet a couple of times, but mostly I was out and about. With camera (or cel phone) in hand.

 

HEY!!!-------How the hell did a 3wnd '34 coupe get a headlight sticker????---DON

 

I was thinking the same thing when I was there. Some other ones where almost covered completely. They put one on my panel headlight when I paid to get in......later that night it when on my compressor tank .

BTW, mine says "show and swap"

 

Blake, I bet I walked around your RP half a dozen times just takin it all in. Bitchin ol' pick up. from the looks of the pictures, it got a lot more crowded on Saturday.

For the "CLOSED" cars (Coupes, Sedans, Pickups, etc.) that register to park their Hot Rods in the "Specialty Parking" area, they provide a headlight sticker similar to this:

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing, I didn't take near as many as I should have. Too bust talking to people at the swap meet.

I was happy they let me in with my "garage find" '30 Roadster. I wanted to have a sandwich board set up with the story of the car but just never got around to making one. Maybe net time I show it.

My friend Wayne, 33 3window, came across his old 32 roadster that he built in the late 80s.
It's had a number of owners since Wayne, and other than a wheel change is just as it was when he finished it.
It's held up pretty well in the 30 plus years since he sold it.
