Anyone have experance w using lash caps, on a Hemi , the added length when using modern Mopar valves makes for the correct length
lash caps increase the over all length of the valve. you need to look at the geometry because extending the valve length tips the rocker up. it may not run on the center of the cap . improper geometry will ruin guides. lash caps have to be used on ***anium valves due to ***anium being a soft metal. with out them the stem gets ruined. they are a pain. don't use them unless you need to'
i think the manton set up is the best out there. it still makes the overall valve length longer. the pro fuel teams are usually running 100 long valves and the appropriate raised and spread shaft mounts. i don't think the person that started this thread is in need of those parts.
I like to use the lash caps to add contact surface area, especially on stud mount rockers gives more stability, roller or regular..Valve length in crease is only .060.
It will increase the overall length, but your spring height will be less than using the o.e.m. valves.
depending on what retainers are used and if anything was done to the spring seat. this all effects spring height. most hemi valve train is built off stock or 100 long. anything can be custom made. i go with what is readily available so when things go bad parts are a day and a credit card away
You might need the keepers that have a pocket machined in them for the lash cap, most 10deg have the relief in them but if you try to use a 7deg stock-type keeper the lash cap might ride on it and not the top of the valve. Bad ju-ju that.
