Technical Last Factory Manual Choke?

    I learned to drive in my dad's '64 Falcon, 170 inch six, 3 speed on the column. It had a manual choke as well as a hand throttle (poor man's cruise control as @'51 Norm mentioned above).

    I can testify that my 1966 289 HiPo had a manual choke!

    Years ago, my boss had worked as service mgr in a Ford dealership in the '60s. They once sold a '61 Ford to an elderly lady that brought it back the first week saying it wouldn't run right. They ran it through the shop and couldn't find anything wrong with it. The next week she brought it back again with the same complaint. Finally he asked her to drive while he rode along. She started it, pulled out the choke, hung her handbag on it, and started down the road!:D
