You are an amazingly talented young man. Are you able to pat yourself on the back while working? if not wait 'til you get home when you can look in the mirror. Fantastic!

  2. As expected, it's looking great.

In regards to the tacho mount, how about something along the lines of the following.......just a suggestion.

    Look forwad to seeing more,

    Cheers,

    Drewfus:)

Looks great! The fact that the gauges are recessed really makes a difference, excellent work!

Lookin good man... mind if I ask who's doin your mill? I need to find a good, confident machine shop to do my motors, that won't jack my parts.

  11. Holy shit, and I thought I was looking for a funky speedo/instrument cluster at a swap a few weeks ago!

That's way rad. Nice workmanship, too.

But if you're looking at the speedometer, you're not going fast enough!:D

    .....

What about sinking the tach down into the dash a bit... kinda like the clocks on 51-52 Chevys or 49-50 Olds?

Dave Pluebell in Garland. Pretty well respected engine builder around these parts. Not cheap, but not necessarily expensive either. I did all the legwork (with help from Jimmy and Fernie) and supplied everything he'd need to do my motor except for freezeplugs, so all I'm having to pay for is machinework, balancing, and bottom end assembly.

I went over to his shop yesterday to drop off the Schneider valve springs (which are going to work excellently by the way) and he has finished everything but assembly of the bottom end. Already cleaned, magged, and decked the block and bored it .060, shotpeened the rods and installed the good Hot Heads rod bolts, balanced the rotating assembly, etc. etc. Once I get the shortblock and heads back I still have to assemlble the heads with valves and springs and hang everything else on the short block.

This motor is going to wake the fucking neighbors. You should be able to hear the cam thump over there in Arlington when I fire it up. :D

  21. Dave built the 383 in the Commander and also fixed the
fucked up work Wayne Calvert did to my Studebaker motor.

    He does good work.

WOW! That looks killer. I'm picturing a couple of levers on either side of the instrument cluster, like the '53 merc dash had.

That's purty mister! Forgive me if it was mentioned already, but what was that speedo from?

  25. Nice work man. The clutch and master mount is very clever, and it's nice to see that not everyone thinks their car needs lakes headers! What are you doing for the rest of your exhaust?

I had that phrase pinstriped on the firewall of one of my sh!tboxes....
I just started looking into getting my 16's done for the same reason but it seems like the chrome shops around here are like 2xs more what you guys pay on the west.....But anyway, the car looks great holmes but it seems to be like that with everything you touch......

I want a poster of that car when you are done!
