Secret Isky solid cam..but I will tell you that it has .525 lift.

Trans is a Muncie M-20 4 speed..Clutch is an 11" McLeod diaphram press. plate with a fancy kevlar disc. Rear is 9" with a 3.50 posi.

My 355 SBC in my shoebox is running the same ratio with aluminum heads. Bob Walker says that he recommends no more than 10:1 for a street-going early hemi...but I think he's just being conservative. :)

Thanks Glenn...I really appreciate the help with the rings. The machinist said they worked great and gapped perfectly.

Thanks Jimmy....I couldn't have done it without your help...thanks for all the advice and help with parts.

(Bore) x (stroke) is 3.8125 x 3.625. Mine is bored .060 over, so it works out to approx. 342 cubic inches.

Not huge by any stretch of the imagination...but probably big enough.

Oh man! That is a beautiful thing. Looks like Pluebell does good work. Would you say it was reasonably priced for your satisfaction level??? :D

    Consider it SEEN. Boing.

Man, that is sweet. 10.5:1 isn't too much. You've got a lot of cam, a light car, and an efficient chamber. I can't see it pinging, but you might put race gas in there for the Roundup... but just because it smells good. :)

Stunning engine mate.I have just bought a desoto 341 thats gonna look the bomb.As for Rockabilly red forget it ,a nice light gold or even cream would look stunning and understated.Red to me kinda means i painted it red to make it look faster than it is whereas gold or cream are just class..........Marq

Your doing a great job Bass. I love the old hemi's, I remember a friend had an old Chrysler in high school back in the 60's. He could smoke the tires, when he was leaving the parking lot, about a block and a half. The torque was awesome. I can only imagine how this motor is going to sound and run with the 10.5. I'd love to see it run.

    Sorry...too late.

I painted the engine and carb bases last night. The pictures unfortunately don't really show the true color...it's really dark in the shop today. There's no outside light coming in because of thunderstorms here in Dallas.

Anyway...it's House of Kolor Apple Red Kandy over Pagan Gold Kandy Basecoat over a fine silver metallic base.

This is as close as I could get to the true color with the camera and a drop light. The Pagan Gold should show through the candy red a lot more in sunlight.

Thanks to Big John Mazmanian for the inspiration.
