  2. Looks beautiful! I know that's a ton of work.

I spent four hours wet sanding and buffing just one door on Sunday, so I feel your pain.

I think the secret to wet sanding is to keep stopping and drying it off over and over to see where you missed. The water hides the low spots, so you really have to dry it pretty often to see what you're really doing.

  3. Yeah, I agree on this. It takes longer, but if you start off with 2000 grit, it takes forever, but the good thing is that there won't be any scratches worse than 2000 grit to have to buff back out again. I did part of a cowl going from 1500 to 2000 and then buffing, and it came out mirror flat, but with a little bit of haziness from faint sand scratches that reappeared. But then I just did a door starting out from the beginning with 2000 and it came out smooth as glass with no haziness at all. It takes forever, but I think I'll keep going like that starting out with 2000 grit.

I'm working with HOK clear over candy.

Thats not how I meant it. I usually start with 800 by hand in any bad spots and go lightly over the rest with the same. Then up to 1000 on my Waterbug, then 1200, then 1500 then 2000. You have to completely work through each step or else you will leave sand scratches.

those scrathces could have appeared cuz u used a polish with alot of filler, thats y i finish off all my dark colors with 3m ultrafina and blue pad.

if u finish with 3000 on the da, its so easy to bring back the shine.

skip the 2000 and go to 3m 3000 trizac on da. it brings back the shine a little, better then any 2000 grit, waterbug or not.
